Calc speed

I have seen that more recent version (3.2.1 for example, but also older versions 3.2, ...) are very slow with big files (1000 lines). Up to 6 seconds to insert lines, you keep on typing not knowing the reselt on the video. This fact does not happens with older version (3.0 if I remember): in this case you see the commands at once.
Maybe recalculation option are set different when you install open office.
I use microsoft excel format.
