Hey guys. I'm trying to find a way to make form fields in Writer to be transparent, except for their contents. What I'm finding is that to preserve certain formatting, the form fields are small. So, to make them the right size, I don't see the static marks/letters/underlines behind them.
The ultimate goal is to export to PDF and have a fillable and printable form.
Any help would be appreciated.
I just upgraded to 3.2.

I guess we're picking apart the language. It is a text box form control (or sometimes a list box form control) that I have been using.r4zoli wrote:Then foeget fields, use form controls instead. The ultimate goal is to export to PDF and have a fillable and printable form.
The question still stands.

Ok, I misunderstand your first post
.
The forms controls background color can not be set invisible, or transparent.

Re: Transparent Form Fields
Dang it!!
Any suggestions on possibly pulling this off? If I keep the form controls the size that works with the text's layout, the text box's "borders" seem to take up too much room and force me to use an impossibly small font to fill it. So I wind up with a size 6 font inside a box larger than size 10 font.

My problem is that I can not figure out your problem from your description (my bad English).

Re: Transparent Form Fields
Are there any plans to make transparent form fields an option on Openoffice.org writer? It would be SO helpful if those form fields could be made transparent!

You can ask for it if not done by someone else already: [Tutorial] Reporting bugs or suggestions.

Re: Transparent Form Fields
I just tried to google the same question, why exported input fields have so big borders with no luck. However, I find a workaround - in the control's properties check select option - border - without frame. At least the text inside those input fields is all visible.
