Barcelona Snapshot

Post by mj84 »

Does anyone know about the progress of the Aqua Build? The last news post was in August which promised a new build by mid September. Occasionally there is bits of news from developer's blogs, but its gone a bit quiet of late.

I understand one issue is still outstanding on the to do list before release, It would be nice to hear how development is going for people who don't understand all the technical stuff!

Thanks

Will this work for Tiger or is it Leopard only?

Thought I would either start a thread or find one related. This is it exactly, so no reason to start anew here.

There are absolutely no updates on OpenOffice from the website or forums otherwise (that I've found) that indicate that any work on the Aqua port is still being developed. Is it true that OpenOffice development [for MacOsX w/o X11] is dead? The latest CVS is August.

I have since started using NeoOffice for Mac OS X. It's a shame, but it's speedy, relatively bugless, and similar in function and layout. I do wish however to remain a loyal supporter and donator to this project, but it appears to be in it's final stages of death.

IMO it would be wise to either reach out and combine efforts with the NeoOffice team or to completely defer all OS X support to NeoOffice or just update period.

Best!

The site http://ftp.cusoo.org where I used to put all my builds has be removed ( I have no information).

If you can provide me an ftp access somwhere, I promise to upload you a recent build including

- native print dialog box,
- quicktime player
- lot of bugfixes
- multi monitor support

And more ;-)

I can't help with FTP hosting, but I can seed a torrent if that is any help?

Surely using bittorrent to distribute snapshots is easier than setting up ftp?

Laurent Buisson proposed me a solution :

Only INTEL en-US or french at this time. I'll build a PowerPC version asap.

Important : click the triangles to see the path ;)

If you take a look at the history of the AquaBuild page on the wiki, you will find that there are many updates on a regular basis as changes happen to the source code.
