Can't open disk image on new Intel MAC

Post by dorrough »

I did search but didn't find a solution ... have just downloaded the intel version of OpenOffice for my sorta-sista. Can't open the dmg file.

iMac OS X 10.6.2 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB RAM

when I open the file OOo_3.1.1_MacOSXIntel_install_en-US.dmg

I get ze error message "The following disk images couldn't be opened" "Reason - Not recognized".

The downloaded file is 62.4 MB. Have tried downloading it twice. Is this the right file size? Is something else going wrong? Well, obviously something is going wrong. Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Looks like an incomplete download. The file should be about 170 MB. Do you use a download manager? Where did you download it from?

Try downloading again from http://download.openoffice.org/index.html

hey, I was facing the same issue. I download from the official website several times thinking that something got corrupted along the way. After browsing several topics around this forum I found one with this link:

http://ooopackages.good-day.net/pub/Ope ... _20090424/

It contains the the dmgs for several languages. Instead of downloading the US version, I went for the GB. I am actually located in England. Don t know whether it was a coincidence or not, however it solved my problem. You should give a go!

Cheers.
