Left brace in formula editor

Post by euler010 »

Does anyone know how to put a lone left brace in the formula editor? I want to write a system of equations with a left brace only (as systems of equations are usually written in textbooks). I would like the brace to extend to multiple equations.

I can get large braces that are on both sides; I just want the left one though.

left lbrace
  stuff...
right none
E.g.
left lbrace
  stack {
    a = b #
    b = c #
    a = c
  }
right none
Note: brackets will not pair across a 'newline'

I've tried that before. It works great until I close the file and reopen it. Then the right bracket is there accompanying the left.

It works fine for me, with the sample quoted above.

Can you share the formula you're having trouble with?

What file format are you saving in?

Try saving as OOo's native ODF format if you were using something else.
