OpenOffice.org 2.4 RC1 released

Version 2.4 Release Candidate 1 was released to the mirror sites this afternonn - it is not available from the http://www.openoffice.org download page as of this time - it usually lags by a day or so.

Edit: NOTE TO Sun Report Builder users ONLY If you are using Base reports created with the Sun Report Builder extension - You may not want to install this RC1 package as you will be UNABLE to edit any of these reports. You can run existing reports, and also create new ones - but once saved you will not be able to open them again for editing...looks like we need to wait for RC 2... There is no problem with reports created with the Report Wizard.

Yes, it has been re-targeted few weeks ago: Can't open a Writer created .DOC file saved on USB key. Had you voted for it (if you still have votes to cast)?

The developer really need to work hard on improving OOo for 2.4 and subsequently 3.0 and all future releases.
