[Solved] Writer saving docs in unknown format

Suddenly in the middle of working with a group of documents Writer is saving in an unknown format that has a generic Windows icon. When I try to open one of these, the "Select A Program To Open" box comes up. Writer can open it, but saves it back in the unknown format. Save AS does the same thing. Anybody know what's happening?
