[Solved] Custom caption position and border for a table

Ok so I am trying to write up a technical report, and have to follow strict "guidelines" (isn't that an oxymoron?) for inserting pictures, graphs, and tables. Pictures I got taken care of thanks to Bill, thanks again. The problem now is that I need to insert a table with a caption, but it needs to be above the table, AND they both need to have border.

I tried using what I previously learned with the autocaption but the "apply borders and shadows" button is inoperable, and I did not see any way to change the position of the caption.

As with other things, I like to be my own boss. "Ain't nobody gonna tell me to use auto-numbering if I can type in the numbers myself." Anyhow, why use a "caption". It is only a descriptive phrase about the image? Why not put the words into a text box and place that wherever you wish?

There should be a box on the right side of the Autocaption dialog where you can set the position of the caption above the table.

The "apply borders and shadows" option is used to transfer the existing borders and shadows of the captioned object's frame to a frame which encloses both the caption and the captioned object. Pictures do have frames, so their borders and shadows can be transferred to an enclosing frame. Tables don't have default frames, so the "apply borders..." option is disabled. You can add a frame manually by selecting the caption and table then selecting Insert > Frame from the menu bar. You can then modify the frame's size and borders as needed.

Sorry for the long wait in the reply, but thanks for the answer. I actually figured it out about a few hours after posting it, and seeing the insert > frame option.
