Online webpage editing

Post by sonnysotx »

I am a new user to Calc. I have quiet a bit of experience with Excel.
My question is.
Is there a way I can upload a spreadsheet to my webpage and be able to edit it online? I have no problem uploading it and creating a url that directs to it for viewing. But when I try to make any changes online I get an error that it is "Read Only" I have to make changes to an offline copy and then upload.
Can anyone help?? Thanks

Always download the file - what you want to edit - from the cluod, from a webpage, from an FTP server, from a web based email service. And then edit it on the local place, Finally you can upload the edited version. Maybe you can automatize this task by macros.

Welcome to the Forums.
The short answer, to my knowledge, is no.
OpenOffice is installed on your computer, and that is where any editing has to be done.
A search of the forum brought up an earlier topic, which, in turn, had a potential suggestion of https://www.libreoffice.org/download/li ... ce-online/
OpenOffice 4.1.7, LibreOffice 7.0.1.2 on Windows 7 Pro, Ultimate & Windows 10 Home (2004)
If you believe your problem has been resolved, please go to your first post in this topic, click the Edit button and add [Solved] to the beginning of the Subject line.

I know this answer is two years late, but I've been searching myself for a solution for multiple people collaborating on a spreadsheet in the cloud, and I have found two implementations of LibreOffice Online: Collabora Office (https://www.collaboraoffice.com/collabora-online/), which is a full collaboration product (including multiple users editing the same online document simultaneously), and the LibreOffice Editor web browser extensions for Chrome & Firefox (https://www.offidocs.com/index.php/prod ... extensions), which I believe only allow single-user-at-a-time editing.
