Data Matrix Code

Post by WalkerWight »

I need to create two-dimensional Data Matrix barcodes from a spreadsheet containing variable data. Once generated I then use this to place into InDesign to print off the Data Matrix codes.Any ideas to how I can achieve this.

Hi Zizi64

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I need to generate Data Matrix codes not QR codes. Regards

Maybe you can modify those third party, open source extensions.

...Or you can use the Google for another extensions or "add-in"-s (opensource ones or commercial ones).

what I'm after is... I create a data base within OpedOffice from 001 to 500 for example then I need to generate data matrix codes from this date. I can generate QR codes by adding the text "#QRcodes" at the beginning of each line. See picture attached.

To automatically generated MULTIPLE QR codes through a Data Merge, the key lies in correctly entering the data in your Data Source .csv or .txt file. You will need to create a column (in Excel for example) and – this is the important part – name the column beginning with a hashtag (for example, “#QRcodes“). Within that column you can mix and match any of the 5 types of codes, but the data entries must be in the following formats:
