Hi There,
Does any one know how to do interrupted sequential numbering?
I'm needing to record tag numbers on stickers into a spreadsheet format. Each batch of stickers may not follow onto the next batch (previously, we've had tags 1-100 then 601-762).
Any tips or hints is appreciated.
Thanks

Autofill or Defined Series are two possible solutions. Search Help - F1 - for filling;cells, automatically for more information on both tools.

Re: Interrupted Sequential Numbering
Thanks for the speedy reply...ive managed to fill the cells, however its not entirely what im hoping to achieve.
Is there a way to have it automatically update to the next consecutive number on the cell below when you press enter.
Im setting the document up for someone else so it needs to have things going on in the background that cannot be edited or changed...

Re: Interrupted Sequential Numbering
Template attached. Enter initial tag # in A1, and tag content in column B. Numbering will appear automatically as you enter content.
Simple mockup with the usual weakness of spreadsheet prototypes: Autonumbering fails if you skip a row, and also if you move entered data by dragging or cut-paste.
Sheet is protected, but no password so you can easily unprotect it if you need to extend range beyond 100.
Is this what you had in mind?
