Moving rows up and down for sorting purposes
Moving rows up and down for sorting purposes
I have a form with a list of names that are alphabetical with corresponding information. When I change the name in the first cell the list is no longer in order. Is there a simple way to move the entire row up or down to re-order the list, without altering the formatting of the entire spreadsheet?

With your spreadsheet open Click Data-->Sort then choose the column to sort on and either ascending or descending. You can also choose additional columns to sort on if needed.

Thanks, I’ll try that as soon as I get back to my computer.

Just a tip: use a helper cellrange with sorting by formulas:
