Page Preview coming up blank

Page Preview, and subsequently the print and PDF option, has stopped working. Before I was only able to print/page view 4 of my 16 pages. Checking the properties of the file: Statistics say I have 16 sheets but only 4 pages. Followed advice from an earlier post to change the print range. I removed it where the option was available and now I can’t print at all. What is happening?!
