I've been dabbling in Google sheets, and since it's online, seems to be a lot of JS , scripts and so on, makes them slow.
Does open office calc have the same functionality as Google sheets?
Are there any benefits to using Calc vs Google sheets?
I don't need any collaboration tools, this is all for me, and actually I prefer to work offline.

Re: Open Office VS Google Sheets, any benefits?
The answer for your last statement is obvious. Use Calc of OpenOffice or LibreOffice.xuzo wrote:Are there any benefits to using Calc vs Google sheets? ... I don't need any collaboration tools, this is all for me, and actually I prefer to work offline.
Benefits? There are some differences, see incompatibility comparison of Excel|GDocs|LibreCalc in a German Libre forum thread: https://www.libreoffice-forum.de/viewto ... excel+calc
In short:

I have a huge ods file created and it takes for ever to add anything. But after I get it added, I upload it to my drive account. From there I open the file in Google Sheets, and the file becomes very fast and responsive to use. Hope this helps. Not sure if it works in the Cloud.

I suppose that you can not use any macros in the Google sheets.
