Duplicates

Postby lcwilcox » Sat Mar 23, 2019 10:07 pm

Hi there! I'm trying to find duplicate names in a column, and then in another column list the duplicates just once.

In other words, if Column A lists the following names:
Jane Smith
Jane Smith
Sally Thomas
Sally Thomas
Sally Thomas
Tom Jones
Ryan Johnson
Ryan Johnson

I'd like to be able to have another column list each individual name just once:
Jane Smith
Sally Thomas
Tom Jones
Ryan Johnson

Why do I need this? I have hundreds of names in "Column A" (many multiple) and "Column B" has numbers for each person/entry. I want to add the numbers in "Column B" for each person and identify the sum and the individual just once in separately.

I should say, that I have quite a few formulas that arrange the names/numbers as they currently are, so I'm looking for a way to separate them without interfering with what I currently have. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks in advance for any help.
