I have a file that i no longer can open properly, when i open it it gives me a page of textimport options, then the choice of opening a copy or a protected version and none of them gives anything.

Any ideas? ive read a few things online but they are old ways and doesnt work for me atleast.
Running on windows 8.1, tried recuvria, cant find any backups.

Im decent with technical stuff but this is way out of my leage.
This is a very importented litte file and I would be eternelly gratefull for some help.

File is damaged and unrecoverable. Try opening it with the system archiver or winzip; if that does not open it, definitely damaged. If the archiver/winzip opens it, extract content.xml and see if that will open with Notepad or other plain text editor.

Please describe exactly what you mean - what is in the Titlebar of any pop-up?

See [Tutorial] How to find and un-delete AOO temporary files for detailed instructions on how to

a) use Previous Versions (W7 and later) to recover previous versions of the file (is there something similar on MacOS and Linux?);

b) recover your file as it was when you last opened or saved it, or as it was when it was last saved with AutoRecovery;

c) find previous versions of the file in the folder it is located in, but which have since been deleted;

d) un-delete the temporary files AOO wrote while you were editing the file, and then deleted. This will recover your file as it was when you last opened or you last saved it.
