Post by Nspen »

Tax Calc Formual SS.ods
(18.15 KiB) Downloaded 108 times
Tax Calc LTCG 2

Can someone help me with the formulas for Lines 9 & 10? I have not been able
to make them calculate properly, when lines 2 & 3 are changed.
All negative figures should = 0.00
We are using Apache Open Office w/Win7.

Attached is our spreadsheet(not sure about that)

Thanks,

Hello,
if I understood the topic correctly:
in C15:

Code: Select all

=MIN(C8;C11;C14)
in C16:

Code: Select all

=(C8-C15)*(C8>C15)

Mikele,
YOU ARE THE MAN :bravo: :bravo:

I have been trying, off and on, for two days, to get those two formulas right, and was unable to.
I have been trying, for 30 minutes to prove your formulas are wrong, and am unable to.

Many Thanks,

Now then, I hope the green check mark will show the problem solved.

OK, I think we found a mistake, but I think it was my mistake.
Where it was recommended to use the formula =MIN(C8;C11;C14) on line 5,
If I am right (and I do not claim to be an accountant) the formula should be changed to =MIN(C8;C7;C14).
I feel sure I was misleading in my explanation or description.
I now believe the limit on first bracket may be 78,750 rather than 19,400.
If you want to be sure, check with someone smarter than me.
But I sure am THANKFUL for Milele helping me out.
