Retaining Window Size in MacOS Mojave

Ever since upgrading to MacOS Mojave I have been encountering an irritating problem in that the size of my spreadsheet window varies when a spreadsheet is opened.

I have one spreadsheet that I use every day and under High Sierra it always opened at the size I closed it. Now it varies. Sometimes it opens at the size it was closed but other times it seems to revert to a standard size. It isn't a show stopper but it is very annoying. I am on version 4.1.3.
