Calc Crashes during a "search"

Post by SmokyBadger »

When I go to do a search in Calc I get an error.
The Recovery window opens. It starts with saying "Due to an unexpected error, OpenOffice crashed"

This happens in all calc documents. It will not matter if it's one page or 50 pages.

Welcome to the Forums.
How are you performing the search? Are you using the "Find text" box or the Find & Replace (ctrl+f) dialog?
If the former then I'll quote a previous post

RoryOF posted a reply earler in this topic which referred to the topic at viewtopic.php?f=6&t=94826#p452075 which contains a subsequent link to prevent the update that seems to be causing the problem from reinstalling.
If the latter, then this is, to me at least, a new problem, though a Windows 10 update might still be the culprit.

Thanks for the reply.
I just check my updates and update KB4343909 is not listed. I have KB4343669, KB4338853 & KB4456655 are the closest numbering to it.
I have a second system that does not have that KB4343909 installed. I have used the same files on that system and it does not have any problems with them.
I will continue this on that other posting.
Thanks

Sorry, I should have mentioned I do the search form the "find text" box.
That other thread was of no help.
Thank you though.

Recent reports are suggesting that later upgrades of Win 10 are sorting out the earlier faulty update problem. Not usiing Win 10 I cannot help with suggestions on how these updates may be installed.

Having used Ubuntu in most of its releases over the past 10 years (I have now settled on Xubuntu) I strongly recommend it. I find it and OO very stable.
