[Solved] Distance - Time plot with custom Y-Axis

Post by swshaun »

Hello there folks,

FIrst time poster, please be gentle! :D

In OO Calc 4.1.5, I want to create a distance-time graph. I have managed this, however, I wondered if it was possible to do the following: the x-axis I have managed to get to work fine for me, it shows the time of day.

The Y-Axis however shows my distances numerically (miles in this case). I would like it to show locations instead of the mileages (see attached picture), e.g. at point 7 on the Y-Axis, I would like the graph to show "Hemerdon", and at point 17, "Ivybridge" and so on.

Is this possible? I have had a hunt around and can not seem to find way of doing this.

Thanks in advance

Shaun

Double-click chart
RIght-click > Chart type = Line chart
RIght-click > data range = B8:C17
First row is label
First column is label

Thank you for that... but that is not what I am looking for.

I have mocked up what I want on the attached spreadsheet using the drawing facility in OO.

IMHO, this is not possible because the y-axis is always numeric and there is no other matching chart type.

Alternative is to show Categories as Labels, if it can suit you :

I created a line chart with labels on the x-axis, turned all labels by 90°, sorted the the table by Mileage in descending order, exported the chart to image format and turned the image by 90°
