[Solved] AutoCorrect for single column

Post by SimonF »

On a Calc spreadsheet if I type "DSmith" (without the ") it corrects this to "Dsmith" which is frustrating.

Is there a way that I can stop this happening specifically in one column or is this something that will affect the whole of my work in OO?

Thanks for any help.

I think (!) you can't manage AutoCorrect for only one column.
What you could do is to insert DSmith both in Replace and With in the AutoCorrect options. Same to Dsmith. So none of them is corrected and you still can use AutoCorrect for your sheet.

Thanks for that erbsenzahl.

Your suggestion would suffice as a workaround but as the names appear only once it would be a deal of work each time. Anyway, I appreciate you taking the trouble to post.

Many thanks Alex1 for your help. My OP was regarding specific column on a specific sheet but that was obviously being unrealistic so erbsenzahl was trying for a workaround.

I must accept what is doable and you have pointed me in the right direction - I appreciate you taking the time to post.
