[Solved] Unable to view all of large Excel file
[Solved] Unable to view all of large Excel file
When I download a very large excel spreadsheet, I can't see the whole list. It is only showing 2730 lines and there should be around 5000. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I can not help for you - without seeing the Excel file...
Can you upload it (max. 128 KiB), or share it (on a free file sharing service) ?

Re: Unable to view all of large Excel file
Sorry, I can't post it. I am trying to download my companies portfolio to an excel file from the sales rep portal. When I view it on the website, I can see everything. As soon as I "download to excel file" it cuts it off. I wish I could show you what I was talking about, but I can't. It's not a public website.

Is it an .xls or is it an .xlsx file?
You can check the content of an OOXML based (.xlsx type) spreadsheet file without Excel and without AOO Calc application:
Rename ia copy of your file to .zip extension. Then you will able unzip it, and you will able to open the files (located inside the archive) with a text editor or with an xml editor.

Re: Unable to view all of large Excel file
Is there an option to download as a .csv or text file? If so you might be able to do that and import into Calc, or at least open the file to confirm that the download is actually giving you the ~5000 rows of data. At the moment we don't know if it is a download issue or a Calc import problem.miggs42 wrote:As soon as I "download to excel file" it cuts it off.
Another approach might be to install Gnumeric spreadsheet and see if it will give you the ~5000 rows.
I have noticed that occasionally it seems to deal with Excel file a bit better than Calc does. You then can save in ODF format and presumably work with the data in Calc

Re: Unable to view all of large Excel file
LibreOffice handles Excel files, particularly xlsx, way better than OpenOffice.

The LibreOffice route worked perfectly! Thanks!
