Pasting grid problems with Win 10

Post by jimbokea »

Hi
Have a look at the attached file "example of misalignment" on tab 'checksheet'
This was copied from another file and pasted on here.
Here it has pasted a new grid over everything
As a result nothing appears on the next tabs
Usually it just fills the grid showing underneath (as in file 'as it should look')
I have win 7 and cannot duplicate this problem (mine works as it should)
The people having the problem have win 10
Is this a win 10 problem or something in the settings
Cheers Jim

note - the file the original was copied from was closed before the new file was opened and pasted.
I tried this on win 7 and had no problem with it. It still worked properly.
They found if the didn't closed the original file it all worked properly.

Further info - The names were highlighted and copied on the original sheet ( just ordinary copy) and then pasted normally on to the other sheet.
It appears to have come across as an object or picture that can be highlighted and deleted.

Stranger things
My wife has just got a computer with win 10 professional and I tried to duplicate the problem 2 other people were having as described.
But it worked perfectly so I have no idea why they are having the problem.

The pasted object is an embedded spreadsheet (a spreadsheet on a sheet), but not a simple pasting of the data and formatting properties of the copied cells. Try it by a double clicking on the pasted area.

I think, you need to choose an another method to transfer the data.

What you want to copy really? The data only, or the formatting properties, and the formulas, and the formatting properties together?

And you must WRITE your macros (based on the API functions) instead of the recording the macros - if you want work to more efficiently with the macros.

Please, edit the initial post in the topic: add the word [Solved] at the beginning of the subject line - if your problem has been solved.
