[Solved] Remove/Hide drop down arrows

Post by Mnemonic67 »

Hi,

I have no use for the drop down arrows on my sheet. I want to hide or remove them from display.

How can I achieve this?

It seems as they are Form control elements. Switch the Form controls to Edit mode and delete them.

They just appeared when making the header row.

Hi Zizi64,

Thanks for responding.

I tried playing with each of the available tools under Form controls and I couldn't get them to affect the issue.

I have added a file to this reply.

Thanks

They are Data Filter control arrows. Select the related columns, and switch off the filter by the menu item "Hide autofilter"

Hi,

Thanks for your response.

An interesting thing happens if I only select one column and then Data> Filter> Hide Autofilter it won't allow me to do more columns. Even if I saved it after doing one as when I reopened it the Autofilter was back on that column.

I had to select all columns and then do the Data> Filter> Hide Autofilter before it would stick

Thanks for your help!!

I can hide the auto filter dropdown arrows that appear in row 1 (without my wanting them!!!), but after saving and reopening the spreadsheet they are back.
Am I missing something?
