Importing Time from CSV file (A.M. P.M. )

Post by suji »

Hi, I have a CSV file which has time in A.M. P.M. Format

I imported it into Calc, but the time changes to text (i.e., if I click on the cell it shows an apostrophe (') in front of the time). I am unable to convert the cell to 24 hour time format like 13:47 . How can this be done.

Use Insert -> Sheet From File to import the data and in the import option dialog select Detect Special Numbers.

When importing csv choose English import language (because of the am/pm) and always (except for rare cases) check the "detect special numbers" option.
