[Solved] Column list

Post by Sveg »

I want to create a column header with a selection, eg House, Cars, Travels etc. If I want to register things belonging to House, I choose it by using a selection (arrow).
In the next column, I want to choose from eg Electricity, Cleaning, Garbage, Insurance etc, all based on my choise in column House.

But; I have forgotten how to create these selection.
How do I do?

Start by looking at Data -> Validity

Hi, and welcome to the community forum.

This problem has been mentioned previously on the forum; I'm sure there are other topics but have a look at this one as a starting point. Also, try this search which looks helpful to me.
Cheers

See this example.
The attached example uses two sheets. The second sheet contains menu items.

Another odd thing happend when I downloaded OpenOffice.
Before I did so I had LibreOffice on my computer, but after dowmloading OpenOffice I can´t open LibreOffice anymore. I can´t open documents created in LibreOffice in LibreOffice, when I click on a document it is opened in OpenOffice.
Is there anything I can do?

I understand that when you click on the *.ods (*.odt) document opens Open Office instead of LibreOffice?
This effect is related to Windows. The last installed application assigned itself as default to open these files. You need to change the assignment of documents to the default programs.
Press: Windows button -> setting -> Applications -> Default applications -> Select default applications by file types
and change programs for ods and odt types.

From a formal point of view, cells do not contain formulas. They have a way of validating the data. The first allows you to select a basic category from the list available.
The second is to indicate a list whose name is like the selected category in the first cell. Therefore, instead of the name of this list, the formula that retrieves it from the first cell is given.
If both cells are to be copied down, then in the second cell the address in the formula must be a relative address.
