How to change true (global) column width and row heights

Post by piFrog »

I have modified the default template with new values for the column width (cw) and row height (rh). It has 3 sheets all with new values for cw and rh. However, if a new sheet is added it has different cw and rh values that are apparently set is some “global” set of values. How do I change these?

The default value of the row height and the column with are not parts of the default Cell style or the Default page style.

The default row height has an automatic value. It depends on the font size of the Default cell style (because the default applied Cell style is the 'Default' cell style in the default template).

I do not know how you can change the default behavior of the row heights to a fixed value in a template.

I changed the default font size, but the new inserted sheet still has the extremely small cells. Granted, when text is typed into the cells they expand just enough to accept the font size. This is not good functionality. The user should be able to set all these default (customize) for new and inserted sheets. The present defaulted small cell size (as determined by row-height and column-width) is pretty much useless. Perhaps the developers should address this issue if this functionality is not available in the present versions.

Do you want really greater cells then the default ones?

Or do you want to zoom in/out the cells on the screen? In this case use the Zoom function. The template file can store the adjusted Zoom factor or factors (because you can synchronize the zoom factor of the sheets; or you can set different zoom factors for every existing sheets).

The "Zoom" function does not change the cell size. It is artificial, it magnifies but does not change characteristics.
