[Solved] Calc/Cell Writing Problem

Post by johnoo »

On a Spread sheet I have merged some cells & wish to put some writing in them.
I want to put some words on the top line & then put some other words under these.
But for some reason I can't get the cursor to move to the line under the first set of words other than to go to the end of the line.
What am I doing wrong?

Check your alignment under Format > Cells >Alignment.

Thanks, but I've checked that & can't find a setting that allows my requirement to take place.
To restate in a Merged cell I want to write some words on a line & then some words on the next line down of that merged cell.
But I can't get the cursor to go to the second line

While editing in the cell (not in the formula bar) hit CTRL-ENTER to create a carriage retrurn in the cell.
I believe this will do what you are describing.
