[Solved] Search through Dates

Post by sanjeeme »

Dear Friends

I have a problem in find option in date format. I have a column using Date format like "11. Sep. 1980" this. I want to search Months parts. But in the Find window I can't find these Sep, Aug text.

I try to convert date format into the Number format but then it will show plain numbers. But I want to keep above format too.

Please let me know the proper solution to find these text part of the date format.

Cheers !!!!

Plase upload your example .ods file with some date value, and the formulas.

Have a look at the formula bar. The date format displayed in the formula bar is the one that works with the search tool. When I open your file, it is the German date format 19.09.1980 with 8 digits and 2 points. When I switch the number format locale to English(USA), the formula bar and the search format changes to 09/19/1980.

It is not a ods file it is .xls file.
Use the International Standard native ODF fileformats. The .xls format never was standardized.

I want to search Months parts.
It is not a ods file it is .xls file.
I see your dates:

Code: Select all

Date
11. IX.. 1980
12. X.. 1980
13. II.. 1980
14. IX.. 1980

16. III.. 1980
17. V.. 1980
18. V.. 1980
19. IX.. 1980
20. VII.. 1980
21. IX.. 1980
22. IX.. 1980
23. X.. 1980
24. XII.. 1980
25. IX.. 1980
26. IX.. 1980

But where are your formulas?

You can not search for a part of a displayed string of a formatted numeric value, but you can search for a value (result) of a formula:
