The question is, in what way you want to make use of the findings. Replacing the contents with a new one is the only case I can easily think of. Getting the addresses, or even visiting the cells one by one is not supported as far as I know in AOO. (The hopping is supported in LibreOffice, however.)
On Windows 10: LibreOffice 24.2 (new numbering) and older versions, PortableOpenOffice 4.1.7 and older, StarOffice 5.2

I am amazed. It even works for cells with formulas that produce the searched number.
The issue that provoked the question was one of just finding a stock symbol in more than one account (each in its own sheet).
I wasn't replacing just finding its existence.
