Printing labels from a spreadsheet...

Post by Dadsaster »

I have a spreadsheet with standard address fields and would like to print labels. I've tried the spreadsheet into an "Address Data Source" and a .dBase DB. Then attempted File -> New -> Label, populating the Label text with fields from the data source and checking "synchronize contents". When I generate the new labels document everything looks correct but if I click "Synchronize Labels" nothing happens.

Any help getting unstuck would be greatly appreciated.

I'm running OpenOffice 4.1.2 on OS X 10.11.3

Greetings and welcome to the community forum!

Try Tools > Update > Fields ... (or All)

The "Synchronize" button simply makes the content from the first label (top left) appear in all the other labels. If you want merge the data, you have to use File > Print ... and confirm the "Do you want to print a form letter?" prompt.

For previewing some data, you can use the buttons above the data grid in the "Data Sources" panel: Text to Fields.
