My Y-values are in an array N4:N918
My single X vector is in an array O4:O918
I want the constant to be calculated.
I want the full array of statistics.
The command below returns only one statistic.
=LINEST(N4:N918;O4:O918;1;1)
What am I doing wrong?

Re: LINEST returns only one statistic
LINEST() is an array function. Select an array of cells two columns wide and four rows high and enter your formula. As you type, it will only appear in the cell at the end of your selection. When you are done typing, confirm the formula with Ctrl + Shift + Enter. It will then appear in all of the selected cells and surrounded by { }. That should give you what you want.

Re: LINEST returns only one statistic
There are lots of nice example spreadsheets posted on the forum; a search for LINEST should get you some. If you want an example to study and you don't find any, just ask.

{q15:r8}=LINEST(N4:N918;O4:O918;1;1)
didn't work either
Just exactly is meant by
Select an array of cells two columns wide and four rows high and enter your formula
When I select an array and move to a formula, the array disappears.
I know that I am missing something very fundamental, but I am..

This really does need better documentation.
Like so many explanations by experts, it isall very simple after you know how to do it.
