Calc, import web data after login

Postby zoff » Sat Jun 21, 2008 12:56 pm

Hi,
I need to import into my calc sheet some web data protected by password.
I know a bit of javascript, Is there a way to use a javascript macro to logon web site and import data I need?

You should not need a macro of any kind. Calc can open files through a URL, and the full syntax of a URL is

<scheme>//<user>:<password>@<host>:<port>/<url-path>

The parts between the // and the <url-path> are all optional, and normally left out.

For example, if you have a file at a web server that is password-protected, you can access it by something like
http://John.Doe:Secret@www.example.com/documents/project/myfile.txt

I don't have access to any password-protected files to test it with, but OOo should fully support standard URLs, so it ought to work.

Sorry for my imprecision...
File isn't password protected via HTTP but I need to login into a web page... Something similar to a forum login...

Oops. Oh well; can't help with that.

You can ask on the Macros and API forum, but this seems a little outside of what you can do with macros in OOo.
