how to move a column(s)
with excel you drag-n-drop with various Ctrl-Shft-Alt combinations to move a column(s). Is there an equivalent set of command, keyboard, mouse way of doing it. I just need to move a column(or series of columns) and insert them between two other existing columns.
In excel Drag=move column(s) or cell(s)
In excel Ctrl + Drag=copy move
In excel Ctrl-Shft+ Drag=insert

ALSO, the issue of just moving a cell. You have to select it and while holding the button down select outside to the adjacent cell and then back in. Then Let the button go and then move by drag-n-drop that single cell. Am I missing something or this the only way (awkward, really awkward) of doing it.

I realize that OO doesn't want to be M$ Office, but why can't it implement the base features that work in Office and then improve it. The use-ablity feature like drag-n-drop. It appears that it is non existent in OO.

nothing in the help index

Thanks, Let me be more specific
you can drag-n-drop and it will move it, but, it won't insert it between columns, it will only move/copy them leaving a blank cols behind and will put them on top of current cols with data in it.

So if you are moving 2 cols, you'd have to create the 2 cols where you want to move them to. do the drag and drop, then delete the 2 blank cols that the process left behind.
Is this not the only way to do it. with excel you start the drag, hold the appropriate key, depend on Copy-Insert-Move and drop and it, In this case Inserts tween 2 existing cols and removes the cols that it came from.

Highlight a range, drag and drop with Alt key. A single cell must be highlighted as well (Ctrl+Click) before you can grab it anywhere(in Excel you need to grab the border).

It's a little fiddly to get exactly right.
Select a column, click on the highlighted cells (not the heading!) and drag. Dropping now will replace the column under the mouse cursor; pressing Alt when you drop will insert the column being moved.
