Iteration formula stopped working

Post by bartjeman »

 Edit: Split from [Solved] Insert today's date as a static date since this is a new problem by a new person in a solved topic.

Code: Select all

=IF(A1="";"";IF(B1="";TODAY();B1))
This formula was working for me some time ago, but now has issues
When the sheet is opened the first time the date is displayed correctly like "12-06-03", and the doc is saved
When we re-open the document instead of seeing the date like "12-06-03", we see the formula as in the attached screen shot

Tools -> Options -> Iterations box is checked, Steps is set to 1

A fixed date is a pure numerical data.
It is not a good idea to use the very valuable Iteration feature for one fixed date value.

Just type-in the fixed dates manually, or use the LibreOffice. It has Fixed Date date input function.
Or you can use a macro for this task.

Please, edit the initial post in the topic: add the word [Solved] at the beginning of the subject line - if your problem has been solved.
