Oracle Application ADI

Post by Krithivasan »

We are in the process of implementing Oracle Application Release 11i in our Organisation. Oracle Apps provides for ADI (Application Desktop Integrator) which enables spreadsheet to connect to APPS to upload data or download data. I understand that we can connect only through MS EXCEL and not with Open Office Calc. Is there any way we can connect Calc to Oracle Apps?

Thanks

Well the obvious answer here is that Oracle do have a range of ODBC connectors for their product so most of the import/export and script base integration tools which provide a SQL interface will work.

I am not familiar with ADI but if it is a COM+ EMSO aware application suite then OOo is different to MSO in its internal architecture even though its user interface is superfically the same as the tradition MSO one.
Ubuntu 11.04-x64 + LibreOffice 3 and MS free except the boss's Notebook which runs XP + OOo 3.3.
