Error by Cell Format

Hello,

i have the following Problem. In Open Office calc when im trying to format a cell the program is hanging up, it doesn´t do anything. When i push enter two times i can work on but the format pop up window doesn´t come on. The same Problem is with the related format und the page format.

Can anybody help me?

OS : WIndows XP SP 2
OO 2.3.1 but the same failure with oo 2.1 and 2.3
I have already tried to deinstall the programm reinstall
I had reset the system with norton ghost and windows to a time when it was already working
i have deinstallaed and reinstalled the jre

But now i have no more ideas

Sounds to me like your 'Format' dialog window is out of screen area.

Try to use your window manager's "window move" shortcut key (ALT+F8?), then the cursor keys to move the invisible window to a visible area.

If this doen't work a renaming of the user settings directory (~/.openoffice.org2/user here) should reset your installation to default values and the window should show up.

The (position-) setting should be in a node in a *.xcu configuration file - but I was unable to identify the entry by now...
