I just downloaded Open Office and the first thing I need to do in order to use the spread sheet is get all my Excel macros to run.
I've read the Help section on VBA and Import filters several times and tried different combinations of the TOOLS, OPTIONS, LOAD/SAVE, VBA spreadsheet settings to no avail.
I RECORDED a macro to see what they looked like in Open Office and it looked nothing like what I've been creating in Excel XP 2002.
I'm totally lost with at this point and wondered if someone could send me off in the right direction.
Thanks,
BH

Re: How to get Excel Macros to Run in OpenOffice
The underlying macro languages are very different and the conversion of macros from Excel to OpenOffice and its derivatives is not a simple process. You may find that LibreOffice offers a slightly easier transition, perhaps at the cost of overall stability, but if you have a suite of Excel macros the most cost effective solution is to stick with Excel.

Thank you Rory. Yes...over 10 years worth of spreadsheet templates with lots of macros throughout.
I guess I'll have to stick with Excel.
