Is there a keyboard/cursor combination for quickly inserting multiple rows or columns?

In Exsell, you hold down a key and click on the adjacent row or column to insert new ones.

Thanks,

Bill

Welcome to the forum MiataRoadster

'Ctrl+Plus key' Insert cells (as in menu Insert - Cells)

In the OOo help you can find all shortcuts.

In my version of Open Office, there are no shortcut keys to insert rows or columns. You can create shortcuts using Tools > Customise > Keyboard tab.

On that tab, in the box labelled 'Category' select 'Insert'. In the next box (labelled 'Function'), scroll down to 'Insert Columns', for example. In the top box labelled "Shortcut Keys," select a shortcut you wish to use. Press the button labelled 'Modify' and the name of the function you have allocated to the shortcut keys will appear in the box at the bottom right labelled 'Keys'. When you have finished allocating shortcuts, press 'OK'.

In my version just highlight a whole row (or collumn) and then press Ctrl and +

I figured out that whoever does the documentation didn't distinguish between "adding a cell" and what I was looking for (and is not mentioned anywhere) adding a row or column.

Thanks,

Bill

The final decision:
Insert a row above the current cell - Shift+Space, Ctrl+"Plus"
Insert a column to the left of the current cell - Shift+Ctrl+Space, Ctrl+"Plus"

Will be inserted as many rows (or columns) as selected now
