Undo doesn't work as it should

Post by yellowsun »

I don't get it with Calc. Calc's Undo doesn't work as it should, or at least, not the way I think it should.

Here's how to reproduce the problem:
1. Type some characters (e.g. "Hello") into a cell.
2. Move to some other cell (using mouse click, or via arrow keys on keyboard)
3. Return to the cell of [Step 1]
4. Type some other things (e.g. "Goodbye") into the cell.
5. Now try to Undo from "Goodbye" to "Hello" (by either hitting Ctrl+Z, or by clicking the Undo button on the Toolbar, or by going to the Edit Menu)
6. You cannot get "hello". The furthest Undo will go is back to a blank cell.

It seems that Undo History does work if a cell is highlighted (that is, when the cell has the black border around it). But Undo History doesn't go as far if the cell is in "Edit Within Cell" mode, which a user can get to by double-clicking a cell, or by typing once a cell is highlighted with the black border.

Is this a bug?

Works for me. If it is a bug, then it is just another bug in your Ubuntu build. Install the original 2.4 from Sun's sources.
