Access denied error

Post by lewkut »

Hi Everyone,

Yes, I'm a newbie newcomer & already have an error question.

When I try to open a calc or a spreadsheet doc. it comes up saying access denied. Can't figure out why, but if I right click and click open in writer it opens.

Why is that when the file I'm opening is a spreadsheet. Wouldn't that be a Open Office calc. See Attachment

Thanks much
this is what I get when opening a spreadsheet.

Open Calc, save a sheet, and then try to open that sheet by double-clicking it. What happens then?

Hey Gurkha

I went into OOo & opened a new blank spreadsheet & saved it to desktop & same thing happened, Access Denied.

In the Save As window make sure "automatic file name extension" is checked.

This sounds like some sort of crazy persmissions thing, but IU can't imagine wehat would do this in Windows.

Can you open any files that belong to any other application (PDF files, say) by double-clicking them - is it just OOo that is affected by this?
