[Solved] Regression Function

Post by tahsocks »

I am using open office version 2.3, and running windows XP. I'm an Economics Student in Britain.. and I cannot afford Microsoft Office.. and open office has always done me good soo....

In the spreadsheet program (Calc) is there a way of replicating the 'REGRESSION' command that Excel has in 'Tools>Data Analysis' ?

The command basically works out alpha and beta in the function yt= a + bt

Just don't have a clue how it's done in Calc :) any help? thanks

Array function
=LINEST(Y_values;X_values) [Ctrl+Shift+Enter]
Returns 2 values for slope and y-intersection.
