Postby paynalton » Tue Jan 22, 2008 9:30 pm

Hi, I-m using OpenOffice.org calc to manage DBF databases.

The program is great to that, but i have a problem:

The numer of Horizontal Fields are limit to 9198 and my bases are rounding 12000 fields.

How can i do to increase the number of fields to Calc???

Like most spreadsheets Calc supports 256 columns, so you may handle your database tables by a database.
Save your database files in a dedicated directory
File>New>Database...
[X]Connect to existing database, type:dBase
Specify directory
You get a Base document (*.odb) which shows the *.dbf files in the connected directory as tables. You can set up indices and use some functions in queries: http://dba.openoffice.org/specification ... tions.html
Unfortunately the dBase driver does not support relations. However, you could use any other odbc driver for dBase.
Please, edit this topic's initial post and add "[Solved]" to the subject line if your problem has been solved.
