Linking cells between spreadsheets

Q1:
I have 2 spreadsheets linked together using DDE linking. O.o.o. Vers. 3.0.1.
If a copy these files onto another computer with a different folder hierarchy, will they still work (communicate)?
Q2:
If I use the formula: =LEFT(CELL("filename");SEARCH("/[^/]+'#";CELL("filename")))
to get the file (cell) addresses for linking in a revised spreadsheet previously linked using DDE, the command fails: #NAME.
Why?
Please list any reason, why the above formula should not work?
