Hello,
I use a web base stock pricing program that has a comand to Export data to CALC. When the exported data is pasted in CALC, it creates DDE comands with the correct links to the web program. These links work fine in XP, but they do not work in VISTA. In VISTA all I get is N/A on the DDE fields. I spoke to tech support at the web base program, and they told me that the cause is UAC (User Account Control) in VISTA. He told me that I may turn UAC off in VISTA but it is not recommend.
Does any one have any idea on how to solve this problem?
I would appreciate your input. Thanks!
Unable to make DDE work in VISTA OS

I don't do Windows, but found that DDE was removed in VISTA

Now I understand better why companies avoid Vista. Anyway, as far as I know DDE was never implemented at all under Linux, but within the OOo "environment" I can use function DDE in Calc as well as DDE fields in Writer.probe1 wrote:I don't do Windows, but found that DDE was removed in VISTA

The problem is that aaronbor (like many users) does not tell us the formula nor tell us anything about the source file where the data are supposed to come form (assuming there must be some file).

Yes - what I recall is that DDE has been re-invented (designed and programmed) for OOo/Linux since 2.0.Villeroy wrote:as far as I know DDE was never implemented at all under Linux, but within the OOo "environment" I can use function DDE in Calc as well as DDE fields in Writer.
Seems like the OOo/Windows code utilizes native WIN-API calls....
