How to print a chart??

Post by openofficeuser321 »

In MicrosoftExcel 2003, I know you have an option to make a chart in a seperate window. In "Calc" when I go to make a chart, it puts it right with all my input information and all the cells. Also, when I print it, my chart gets cut off and I get all the cells with it. How can I print JUST MY CHART?? And make my chart seperate than all my other cells?? Thanks!

Calc knows one type of sheet. There are no chart-sheets. The only way I can think of:
Put your chart on a separate sheet.
Turn on Menu:View>Print page preview.
Set up the page orientation and other stuff.
Drag your chart into the right position and size to fit one page.
Please, edit this topic's initial post and add "[Solved]" to the subject line if your problem has been solved.

Here's the feature request: Issue 6010: Add ablility to Print/Preview OLE indepent - e.g. print chart without spreadsheet. It's targeted for OOo 3.0 (Fall 2008).

As a workaround, in addition to the ones mentioned by Villeroy, you can either
1) Select the cells that enclose your chart
2) File > Print; Print range = Selection; OK

Or, copy/paste the chart into a new Writer document, scale the chart as you like and print.
