How do I open a .PRN file as a spreadsheet?

I am unable to rename the .PRN file as a .txt or .csv file. How do I open it as a tab or comma delimited file?

Soffice seems perversely to want to open PRN files as a writer file. However, if you open Calc then you can also do an Insert->Sheet from File which will invoke the import wizard and you can select the file that you want.
Ubuntu 11.04-x64 + LibreOffice 3 and MS free except the boss's Notebook which runs XP + OOo 3.3.
