Conditional Format a Named range (LibreOffice)
Conditional Format a Named range (LibreOffice)
I named the range a1:a2 on a new and empty sheet to "JEFF" (no quotes). Then I opened Format > Conditional > Manage... > Add and entered "JEFF" (no quotes) into the Range: box at the bottom. The Range: box immediately turned Red (apparently indicating an invalid entry). Does this mean that calc does not support conditional formatting of named ranges? Thank you...

Re: Conditional Format a Named range
You are not running OpenOffice 4.1.5 on openSuSE 42.3 as indicated in your signature. What you describe fits to LibreOffice.
Named ranges work in cond. formats exactly like in formulas. Select the range where you want to apply the c. f. and use a named range in a conditional expression. The range box refers to the selection.
