[Solved] Move active cell horizontally after typing

Post by stebobibo »

How to move horizontally after typing in a cell? I know that tab and shift-tab do this, but not after typing, they only work before. Enter works after typing to move down, but tab doesn't. It's very time consuming to use the mouse to get to the next cell after typing. Thanks.

Go to Tools | Options | OpenOffice Calc | General; under Input Settings select Press Enter to move selection and choose the direction to move from the drop down list to the right.

Arrow keys should also work if you haven't entered edit mode (double click in the cell).

Hey, thanks a lot for your great reply! Is there a way to be able to have a hotkey for both move selection down and across? Because if I change enter to across, now I don't have a button for down. Thanks again

Enter, Home goes down and then to the first column.
LibreOffice Calc goes to the start of a new list row when hitting Enter.
