[Solved] Preview in web browser issue

Post by AlexandraNyx »

Using the "Preview in web browser feature"
from a sheet that has data and dates on it

Then ... copying from the browser and pasting to the same sheet

the DATES come back as a numbers not DATES.

The browser shows the dates as dates.

This is a new issue. Same browser. Same open office . Same computer.

Any ideas people?

thanks - alexandra

Okay. So I found a remedy. Not a fix mind you. A remedy. I used a new spreadsheet. Set the style and formatting the same as the original spreadsheet i was previous using and viola - the dates came out as dates like they are supposed to. Don't know what the problem was with the other spreadsheet but I guess it's solved for now.

Thanks for looking

Dates are numbers in fact. They are just displayed differently than a standard number.

Do you mean that pasting from the web preview in your second spreadsheet is fine?

Thanks
Yes that works fine! The second one. Strange highways, The first sheet that's set up identically still didn't work. So that sheet is gone now. Couldn't figure why one sheet works and the other doesn't. Like people I guess. People who love to work and people who look to avoid work ... but still get paid!
